The vacation stay here is only recommended. The rooms were clean and nicely furnished. Breakfast and dinner were delicious and the staff very, very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is also extremely animal-friendly and you not only have eyes for two-legged friends, but also four-legged friends. We will definitely be back!

Great ambience and very nice service. I only liked the food mediocre. The hash browns and schnitzel seem to come out of the deep fryer, the mushrooms out of the glass. You can do that, but not with the prices.

Nice restaurant with home-style cuisine The restaurant is part of the hotel. But you don't have to be a guest of the hotel to eat. At Corona times there are a little less tables available, which is why the interior may look a bit "empty". The empty space, the large distance between the tables, comes to the fore. Otherwise the ambience is okay. I wouldn't say quaint. The service was very friendly, but seemed a bit stressed. We were seated at the first table at the entrance, other tables for two were still free, but we weren't allowed to take them for whatever reason. Mind you, we didn't sit down when we asked (because of Corona, disinfect, etc.). Other guests who had reserved in pairs and who came after us were seated at these tables. Very unfortunate, at the entrance with the door open where all the other guests were walking right by and the cars could be clearly heard on the street was not very nice. For starters we had the salmon and the pumpkin soup. The salmon was good, and if you were very picky, like my girlfriend, you wouldn't have eaten a spot or two. Unfortunately, the pumpkin soup disappointed me. For my taste it could have used a little more seasoning and the combination with grated celery was absolutely not right. The MAIN COURSE, on the other hand, was much better. It was definitely worth it in terms of taste! I had Uncle Willis' grill pan. Different pieces of meat with fried potatoes and green beans. The meat was cooked to the point and very juicy. I would also say perfectly seasoned, just like the beans with bacon and the fried potatoes. The frying juice with butter rounded everything off. There is also a mushroom cream sauce in the grill pan, but it was inconspicuous in terms of the amount and was (in retrospect, quite a good thing) in the frying juice of the rest. My friend's Balkan schnitzel was delicious and tender. All in all very good. The price may be slightly higher but within reasonable limits.

We spent 2 nights here at short notice and loved it. The rooms were very clean and the food was excellent. The waitresses and the owner were super friendly. We will definitely come back again :-)

We stayed at the hotel with the family for a week. The breakfast was very rich and varied. The hygiene rules and distances were observed very well. We have recovered very well.

The staff was super friendly and attentive. At breakfast even special requests (Maggi for the breakfast egg :)) were immediately fulfilled and the next morning it was ready without asking. In the evening we went to eat in the restaurant and there was really nothing to complain about. The location was close to the action and yet quiet. We are thrilled and will definitely be back.

We had reserved a place here in advance, which turned out to be necessary on arrival, a queue formed before the opening. The food was extremely good, from the soup, the main course and the absolutely delicious dessert. The condition was friendly and attentive and very careful to ensure that current hygiene measures are followed. Probably the best meal in Cochem, highly recommended.

We have seldom eaten so delicious. Very nice service, especially really fast! The food is freshly prepared and tastes really delicious. Big compliments, we'll be back.

After a long search for a place for dinner, we arrived at this great restaurant. The staff is extremely friendly and dedicated. Despite high reservations, they made it possible to offer us a table - we seemed to have been lucky: a reservation is therefore strongly recommended. The food tasted particularly good and is definitely home-made - the meat is fried to the point. The price-performance ratio is good. We unreservedly recommend this restaurant.

The food is really delicious. Good German home cooking. The service was also excellent and the prices reasonable. There is a star deduction for the ambience and interior. This is really still completely 80s. The menu in clear film and loose-leaf binders is no longer really up to date. But what is important is the food. If you want good food and if the ambience is not so important to you, this is the right place. If you like it the other way around, look for a restaurant on the Moselle promenade.

Nice classic small owner-run hotel on the outskirts of Cochem. We had a nice room with a newly renovated bathroom and a small balcony facing the street. The Corona regulations are taken seriously, but it was still pleasant and warm. Breakfast and dinner from half board were great. Great P / L ratio.

Great room in a familiar, hospitable atmosphere. The breakfast was delicious and the hygiene concept is implemented sensibly. This is how a holiday on the Moselle is fun. We will be back definitely....

Neat restaurant with good food! Plumbing is clean but very old. That could use an update! But on the other hand you suddenly step in 1978 when you enter the toilet 😀. The same applies to the staff; old but neat and tidy. 😀

Unfortunately, we didn't have the most beautiful table, which is due to the high demand. The service staff are (despite the high number of visitors) very patient and friendly! We both ate the same dish from the menu of the day and enjoyed it very much. Very nicely presented, generous in the portion and also the taste on point. For the main course there was a nice starter salad and the wine list leaves nothing to be desired. #highlyreccomend #getareservation

I have been going there again and again for years Highly recommend the potato sauce, and the medallions three sauces ... It's a bit more expensive but definitely worth every penny

Very tasty food Since we were very disappointed with the restaurants on the promenade, we asked a local for a tip. The restaurant is a bit out of the way, directly at the chair lift, but has great service, a good selection and very tasty food.

Good vibe restaurant, 10 minutes walk from the busy tourist area, which is defiantly worth it. Ordered mixed grill plate and beef steak, both delicious. Friendly staff.

Perfect located family place with a good restaurant and a great manager looking after her guests. Right next to the Sesselbahn, seat lift, taking y up to the hill. From there there are some nice short and long hikes. Do not forget to taste some local Moessel wine and to go for a walk by the river and up to the castle

Be sure to book in advance as this place is usually full. The menu was all in German and the staff spoke little english so it was a bit difficult to understand what to eat, we then decided to try the potaoe soup and mixed grill and we were not disappointed as the food were very good. The portions are huge and the house wine was divine! The place is up a hill road a little bit out from the centre. Prices are also very good. All the covid measures were followed in this place so we felt safe as well.

Good place to stay, I loved the breakfast. The room was good, we made good use of the beds, because we were very tired when we came in. Four stars, because the windows could be bigger and the beds could be more comfortable. But overall a good experience. And thumbs up for excellent service!

Best in town! If you wanna have a great meal with great service - you have to visit Onkel Willi! Skip the tourist traps and go here!

Had an excellent dinner here, including the most perfectly cooked bit of pork from a happy Susländer pig. A bit away from the tourist-crammed town centre, and looked to be a favourite with the locals. Very friendly staff.

Today eating there I had the uncle willi grill pfane with 3 kinds of meat fried potatoes, beans, bacon and mushrooms, 1 piece of meat was very salty 1 piece of meat was super dry and the last stulp of meat still had a cracking taste of the baked potatoes taste and the beans were tough this also given to the service, their response was we pass it on to the kitchen. We also had a schnitzel with mushroom cream sauce and baked potatoes. Schnitzel was fairly done with baked potatoes no taste the salad was limp as if it were the cucumber from the previous day. All in all, not a good experience for us

All our food was very high quality. Service was very friendly. Great find!

I visited the restaurant with my family and we ordered the duck, the grill plate and the pork medallions. It took about half an hour for the food to arrive and even though there were only 8 tables, there was only 1 waitress (very friendly btw) to serve such an extensive menu. My duck came with broccoli, rice and orange-pepper sauce, all of which were made with massive amounts of salt, making me feel very ill. After telling the waitress my she took my plate back into the kitchen...10 minutes later my food came out again, the 3 pieces of duck breast reheated and tough, the sauce finally had a flavour (no trace of orange though....) but the broccoli was now full of water (great because I still felt ill from the first round) and the rice = pure salt AGAIN (even more than the last try) and with a crunch to it. I let the waitress know, who tried some, almost gagged and went to tell the kitchen. The medallions had 3 different sauces that were not anything special, but the grill plate, although underseasoned (LOL) was lovely. As compensation we received two glasses of tap water and one small horrible bitter cappuccino. What an absolute waste of time and money (it is relatively expensive for what it is). My tips for the restaurant owners: 1. Review your menu --> it is too long for the amount of people who come in, with too many mediocre dishes being served. 2. Taste your dishes before sending them out 3. Please fire the chef who tried to kill me with salt.... he obviously does not know how to cook. I would like to point out that it was not the waitresses fault, it is a difficult thing when the chefs can't do their job properly, but she handled it alright and was quite friendly.

This restaurant was one of a half dozen recommendations from the owner/manager of our hotel in Cochem. Just outside of the hub of tourist activity it is a quieter and more relaxed place to enjoy a meal. The service was good, even providing a English version of the menu on request. The food was fresh and thoughtfully prepared. It was one of our best meals while visiting Germany. Highly recommended.

Tasty local German dishes with a very friendly staff. Unfortunately there was no English menu. But free wifi is available if you need online translating. There are 7 on site parking spots. Also, their dog greeted us as we pulled in. Extra points for that.
